Roberto "Chito" Granillo, age 61, lifelong resident of Las Cruces passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. "Chito", as he was fondly known to family and friends, was born March 22, 1956 to Leonardo and Lucia Barela Granillo. He was a self-employed handyman.
Survivors include a son, Albert Granillo; a daughter, Amanda Lopez (Joshua) all of Albuquerque; four brothers, Samuel Granillo (Gracie) and Antonio Granillo all of Las Cruces, Leonardo Granillo, Jr, of Albuquerque and Steve Granillo of Denver, CO. Other survivors include one grandson, Robert Jr., as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Chito was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Irene Chaparro.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Friday (today), October 13, 2017 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with Pastor Jason Walker officiating. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
