To the Family of Rob Root an sister Martha
Teddy LLovet has just sent me the sad news about Rob"s death. Please accept our deepest sympathy. Although we have been out of contact for several years, my memories go back to when he was born and to the early days of Steven's birth. How fast those years went by including his entire lifetime
From his Aunt Helen and Uncle Russ Humphrey

Bob meant a great deal to me both while I was at West Point, and in the years since. I am very sorry that he is gone. I miss him a great deal. He was a very kind and giving person. I never thought of New Jersey or Florida softball tournaments without thinking of him. I will never forget his smile, or fighting with him over who would pay the check.

To Mr. Root's Family,
I am so very saddened to hear that Mr. Root passed away last week, especially since I just saw and spoke to him weeks earlier,at our home and at our volleyball meeting. My family will miss him very much, he was a great person and friend to our family, he helped us when we needed him and he was always there. Our Pool will miss him throughout the summer now, that he will not be in it anymore everyday. May he rest in peace and always look out for your family and ours...

Stephen, Amy, the Boys, Sara,
I was so saddened to hear first of Rootie being sick and then his passing. I have fond memories of driving "Rootie" crazy with Jen as a little girl and then hearing more about him through Jen's stories as we got older. I am so sorry for the loss of a wonderful dad, grandpa and friend to many. Our thoughts are with your family. Love, Maia Germain (Gomory)

To cousin Marty and all Rob's family, I was sorry to hear about Rob's passing. Though we have not seen each other in many years, I remember my New Jersey cousins fondly.

Teddy Westcott Llovet

To my brother Stephen, sister in law Amy and nephews Conor and Sean,

Although "Rootie" as I have always refered to him as was technically not related to me although many thought he was (ha ha) he was always very good to me and then to Joe and then the girls.

I will miss his polyester pants, sneakers, tanned face from his trips to Florida, his Carvel ice cream cakes for the holidays and his incredible carving of the Thanksgiving turkey and of course that special banter...

We were very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Although my father has known Bob for years, my husband and I have had the pleasure of knowing him for the past few years as he officiated Hillsborough's Tournament for Volleyball in the Spring. He was not only invited to come back year after year because he was a great official, but because he became an extended family member and friend. He will be sorely missed by all....

Sending our sympathies and support to your family.

family of bob root
we were saddened to hear of the passing of your brother, father, and grandfather, bob root. He was a dear friend of ours.
Bob officiated my volleyball games since we both first started 31 years ago. HE became a friend, colleague, and a true supporter of the volleyball program in n.j. He was so proud of the awards he received for volleyball and softball. He cherished the volleyball award and kept it close to his heart. If you ever needed a friend, he was there. ...

Stephen, Amy & boys, as well as my dear friend Jen and mother Sara. I'm so sorry about Rootie's passing. I know how much he has meant to you all as well as the countless people whose lives he touched. With love & hugs, Gillian Giuffra Branigan
