I had a flashback of 5 of us, Robin and the 4 cousins, and sometimes my mom, crammed into her green Thunderbird, driving to the endless swim meets all over Ohio. Good times, mostly :)
LOTS of tangled hair.. ()

I wanted to add that Aunt Robin was also an entrepreneur:
She sold Avon for years and then a restaurateur, which she ran with her friend, Alice.
And at Christmas time she famous for peanut brittle.
Robin raised 2 of her grandchildren after her children "left the nest" and she always had her circle of friends. She was very dynamic, a life-long student and never met a stranger.
(Typo in my previous post: week shouldn't be after Nursing)

Aunt Robin was a very good woman and a great cook, but why liver? WHY? Thank the gods that Honey, the cocker spaniel, really liked liver.
My Aunt was family, not by blood but by love. She took me in over the summers, not bc she was made to by my Uncle, by blood, she did it bc FAMILY meant something to her. She was the Matriarch. She was mothering to everyone who entered her life. She was brave enough to go back to school and get her degree in Nursing, week before "the older student was trending". She sewed clothing items and then taught herself quilting. She loved going to the races and she had a great, loud, genuine laugh! She welcomed her step-son into her family as though he had always been a part of it. She was a very kind and generous human. Always fun to be around, except when she would comb my long tangled, wet hair. I think she might have taken a bit of pleasure from all the knots of hair there was to get through.
I miss her. She was strong in morals and values and character. She always put her family first and I was fortunate enough to be included.
