Brett Funeral Home - Milwaukee Obituary

Robin Michael Travelute passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020 in Milwaukee, WI.  Robin (A.K.A. Robbo) was born on February 17, 1951 in Rock Springs, WY to Georgia Mae (Hass) Travelute and Robert J. Travelute.

Robin spent the first 10 years of his life on a cattle ranch in the shadow of the Wind River mountain range in Wyoming. After moving to Milwaukee with his mother Georgia, his brother Toby and his sister Terry, Robin became interested in Karate.  At the age of 16, he became the youngest person in Wisconsin to earn a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Robin was a robust person that enjoyed running, biking, swimming, triathlons and Ironman competitions.  During his alone time, Robin was a lifetime avid reader, but his absolute love was fishing.  Robin worked and was known as one of the best nature/fishing guides in Manitoba, Canada.  Anglers from all over the world would book yearly with Robin for an exclusive fishing experience catching walleye, northern pike and lake trout.  Robin always had wonderful stories to tell about his time spent while guiding in Canada.  The time he spent there was a significant part of his life that he truly cherished.

Robin was a well-known, and well-loved bartender in several downtown and eastside Milwaukee establishments.  The job was a good match for his gregarious and fun loving personality.  Laughing, joking and telling stories with his family of friends was fundamental to who Robin was.

Robin loved animals, and he traveled and lived in numerous places (Colorado, Florida, Mexico, Central and South America, and Canada).

Robin is preceded in death by his loving mother Georgia and his brother Toby.  Robin is survived by his sister Terry Travelute and her husband Mike Erler, his half-sister Christie Travelute, and his ex-wife but beloved friend Madelyn Ricco.

Owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, no services are planned.

There are places within our hearts that can only be filled with memories of Robin, and there are places in our souls that can only be healed by time. “All people die, but not all people live.”  God’s speed Robin.  Rest in peace.  You are loved, and you will be missed.

Not sure what to say?

Robin easily put a smile on everyone's face.
He would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. Much love for Robin, his family and friends...and a smile knowing he is fishing his favorite spot now.

Robin will be missed by many. One of my favorite people I ever worked with. He had a fantastic personality and such a quick wit....his one liners were spot on. Glad he squeezed in as much life as he did because he left us way too soon. Hugs to all

Robin was a great guy. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a voracious reader. I admired him for that.

Robin will live in our hearts always.I miss him already. May Madalyn and Terry find a little joy in each day. He gave us all so much joy qand will not ever be forgotten . Your forever more than friend Connie

Robin was loved by all. He was truly a Milwaukee Bar Star. A great personality that went out of his way to socialize. I will always remember his kind ways and out going personality. Rest In Peace Robin !! Ein Prosit Gary Porath

I am so saddened to hear of Robins passing. I have known Robin since 2005 when I started at a local liquor distributor where he was a salesman . I’d always see him and we’d talk either on the route at an account or I’d call him to pick up some cases for one of his accounts. I remember he let me use his orange Honda one time . Just said yah here ya go , no worries . That was Robin , a caring and giving man . My girlfriend who also worked at the company knew him as well . We would run into...

I knew Robin from working with him at Johnson Brothers Beverages. He was an amazing person. I enjoyed the time i was able to spend with him in and outside of work. Unfortunately, we lost touch in recent years, but i thought of him often. My heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Some of the best conversations i ever had were with Robin. Lot of laughs together. RIP my friend no

I had the pleasure of working with Robin in Canada, he was definitely the life of the party. I loved hearing his stories from bartending it sure passed the time while secluded. He was a fascinating man with a heart of gold. He lived his life to the fullest, something we all take for granted. Rest in peace Robin, you will be missed ♥
