Not sure what to say?

I only got to know Rod for a few months a couple years back, after taking care of him at their home. Rod was so fun to be around, and I enjoyed the friendship that we quickly made. He would take me out to his wood shop, and let me watch him clean the pool. His stories were always about Jean, the kids, and grandkids. Weekend trips to SunRiver and the pool in their backyard were highlights mentioned often. He will be missed.

I meet and ministered to Rod and Jean when Pastor Tom Houser and I started a Church service at Edgewood point, and then when Rod moved to Brookdale Tom and I started another service there. I was privileged and proud to work with Rod while he served on the Beaverton School Board. He was positive, optimistic, and supportive of good schools. I was public information administrator for the district while Rod was a Board member.

Uncle Rod was a great friend and supporter of me from the beginning of my life, and he, Jean and family consistently remembered and invited Mia and I to share their lives. We are sad at his passing.

I was a longtime neighbor of Rod, and we spent many warm days with our golden retrievers in the school yard. He was always a gentleman, and dearly loved his dog, Rocky. It is with sadness that I, and many neighbors, feel with his loss.

Rod was an inspiration to me through our connection in Rotary. It was a pleasure to know him and the family.
