Roderick A. Boyle

Roderick A. Boyle of Flint, age 97, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023.

Roderick (Rod) was a WWII veteran. He served in Germany and was part of the "ALSOS" mission. The team he led survived many missions behind enemy lines which included locating and extracting atomic and other scientists. They also found much of the uranium for the atomic bomb.

After graduating from GMI with an engineering degree, he worked at GM 43 1/2 years. He retired from Buick Motor Division in 1988 as an Assistant Superintendent.

Survived by: Wife, Nancy Boyle; brother, Brian (Joe) Boyle, daughter, Cheryl Boyle; stepchildren Karla (Dennis) Brock, Geoffrey (Brenda) Gordon, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: Son, Roderick L. Boyle; son, Gary Boyle; stepson, Jerrold Gordon, sister, Barbara Mehoke, brother, Christopher Boyle; and grandson, Roderick Boyle.
