CHAMBERLAIN, Roderick James "Rick" - Of Flint, age 52, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, June 13, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jim Garfield officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to Carriage Town Ministries. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Rick was born in Flint, Michigan on November 11, 1958. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps with tours in Korea and Japan. He was a member of VFW Chevrolet Post #3087. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and helping others. Rick was employed by GM Truck Plant for 26 years. Surviving are three children: Bobbie and husband Robert McAllister of Grand Blanc, Ashley Chamberlain of Flint and James Chamberlain of Flint; two grandchildren, Damond Chamberlain and Hayden Chamberlain; mother, Carol Chamberlain of Grand Blanc; two brothers, Randy and wife Debra Chamberlain of Holly, Rockford and wife Glenda Chamberlain of Flint; aunt, Sandy Merrill of Fenton; uncle, Allen Chamberlain of Flint; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Selina Chamberlain; father, Vertis Ray Chamberlain; sister, Carla Chamberlain and special nephew, Ricky Chamberlain. Rick and I worked at the truck plant for many years together, we are so sorry to hear about Rick, you have our deepest sympathy. Our thoughts and prayers our out to the family.

I am so heart broken to hear that Rick is gone. So many very special memeories. I think of my many years with Ricky and Rocky. Better friends there were and are none. I would have long ago myself been gone had I not got out of Flint.
