Not sure what to say?

I really appreciated Rod Hartung for his support of my growth and development as a high school student trying to understand what he wanted to do with his future education and career. Rod Hartung and my father helped his son Robert and me take advantage of a fantastic opportunity to intern for NASA at NSTL in 1981, which was a very formative experience. I will always remember and be grateful!

Dear Evie,Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.May you know the peace and comfort that the ones we love are never gone, they live within our hearts.
Your friends and former neighbors,

Moreno and Sue

Rod came from an historic Albion, Michigan family. I enjoyed his correspondence in 2000. Frank Passic, Albion Historian.

May the grace of God continue to embrace you during this time of sorrow and hereafter. Mrs. Evelyn, I remember well that radio smile of yours..may it continue to radiate.

Evi, Jon and I are so saddened to hear of your incrediable loss. May God hold you in his arms until you are able to stand on your own again. God Bless you and your family. Jon and Jocelyn Barney Lamoni, Iowa

Evi and family,
So saddened, ... but rejoice that we were blessed to have known Rod and Evi Hartung. Together, you made a mighty team with your kindness and generousity. Will always remember the remarkable times we had in the United States Power Squadons.....we had FUN even though most of the time on the water we were "working" doing Vessel Safety Checks on the water. . Ya'll spread kindness and joy where ever you were....even after 8 years, we still are missing you both! Hugs!

Kathy, Amanda, Michael, Jennifer and Emily,
Our prayers go up for all of you. We know that this was a great loss for all of you and that your Dad/Grandfather will be dearly missed. Praying that the Lord will surround you with His peace during the days ahead.
Greg, Beth and Claire Johnston

I am so sorry to hear of this. Rod was the refinery manager at Pascagoula when I went to work there. Certainly there was not another that could have come UP to his standard. May you all feel God's nearness at this time.
