Not sure what to say?

An inspiration to so many. One of the finest men I have had the privilege to have ever been taught and mentored by. Heaven truly has a new great angel. Never forgotten Mr West.

A truly inspirational man. I thank the Lord for his example, and Christian witness to all those he came in contact with. He is now with his God and Saviour.

I went to school with him. A fine Latin student under "Snakey Bertenshaw"A great student!!!

I was privileged to be taught for only one year (Fort Street 1957)by Roderick West. His influence was huge, even as a young teacher before his incredible career as a Principal. The Inter School Christian Fellowship expanded to a quarter of the school. It was largely because of him that I became a teacher myself and hopefully did some good.
Sincere condolences to the family. I met Janet once, at the wedding!
"The trumpets sounded for him on the other side".

I was fortunate to have be taught by Mr. West when he was teaching in Cootamundra. Very fond memories of a great teacher.

Mr. West taught me for one year only(1956) and he was an outstanding teacher who never forgot his pupils. When he transferred from Cootamundra to Fort St. in 1958, collected all past students who were in Sydney at the time and took us out. When he could not attend the first CHS reunion in 1951, he sought me(I was the organizer) out in Melbourne to say how sorry he was to be missing it. Rest peacefully Valiant man. Sincere sympathies to Janet and all the West families.

My memories of Rod and Janet West are fleeting. Apart from our dear daughters being in the same form at School, I knew him through Jess's eyes. He was portrayed as a marvellous father who's opinion, guidance and help was extended to young family friends especially when teaching was selected as a career. I value his generousity to this day with the example he set to know and influence his pupils for their eternal good.
May I extend to all his family during this difficult, veiled...

Rod and his daughter Julia are remembered fondly as inspirational teachers by our son who had the good fortune to attend Trinity Grammar. We are so grateful for their example and service. Condolences to the West family.

A fine man. We treasure memories of meeting you both with UK friend Mary Begg.
May the love of Christ surround you all.
