The funeral service for Rodney Allen Anderson will be 3:00pm Wednesday, July 8th at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will follow the funeral in Sanford Corners Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service at the funeral home beginning at 1:00pm.


 


Rodney passed away Tuesday, June 30th at Samaritan Medical Center. He was 64 years old.


 


Born October 16, 1955 in Watertown, Rodney was a son of Merril B. and Theresa J. (Howe) Anderson. He was educated locally in the Indian River School District.


 


Over the course of his career Rodney worked at several local businesses that include Gaetano Trucking, Doldo Brothers, FedEx, and the Apollo Restaurant.


 


Rodney enjoyed NASCAR, football, and socializing. Rod was one of the nicest guys in the world. He had many friends and, if needed, he would always be there to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by many.


 


Rodney is survived by his siblings, Jeffrey Anderson and companion Vicki Dobransky of Watertown, Cynthia and Leslie Filiatrault of Antwerp, Mark Anderson of Watertown, Keith Howe of Plattsburgh. Rodney is also survived by several nieces and nephews.


 


Besides his parents, Rodney is predeceased by 2 siblings, Kathy Gerken and Brian Anderson.


 


Donations may be made in his memory to the Jefferson County SPCA, 25056 Water Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
