Read MoreI got to Rod through my job in law enforcement, and he was a very strong supporter of law enforcement officers, and his work on our behalf was greatly appreciated. Rod was a good man and a rarity among those in Public office. He was genuinely honest and truly dedicated to serving his constituents, and if he said something, he meant it, and if he promised something he kept his word. He will be greatly missed!

Rod and I were copresidents during our junior year of high school at Catholic Boys and Notre Dame in Quincy, Il. He was a hard worker and his leadership skills were evident even in high school.
