Not sure what to say?

What a great guy, everyone should aspire to be like Mark.

So, so sorry to just learn this. Mark was a med school classmate and just a wonderful person. I can't imagine how greatly he will be missed.

Keeping you and your family in our prayers and wishing you strength and peace in the days ahead.

I met Mark 36 years ago when he started working with Dr Smale & I was the receptionist there. He was so kind & I remember those years with him & Dr Garcia with such fondness. Through the years, we always had great catch up sessions when I saw him. My heart goes out to you & the kids Bernadette. May God give you peace & grace as you go through this difficult season.

I was so sorry to hear that we lost Dr. Root in this tragic accident... I worked with him pretty much my whole 30 year nursing career at BMH. He was always one of our favorite docs to deliver with. He was always kind and caring, and trusted. His patients loved him too. I remember when he would bring the kids with him to the hospital in the red wagon. He would have enjoyed grandkids so much! I hate that he didn´t get that chance...I pray for your family, loss is so hard to bear. May God watch...

His mother was our Cub Scout den mother. What a nice lady she was. And Mark was the nicest guy I´ve ever met. He sewed my finger back together during his lunch hour in between his seeing the pregnant mothers. Also sent me over some medicine when I got sick from Mexico. This guy is who you would hope your sons turn out like. Rest In Peace Mark.

I worked with Dr. Root at Kern medical center when he first came to Bakersfield. We became very close and he called me mom. I´m 94 years old now but was able to enjoy a memorable visit from him about two years ago he will always be in my heart forever.

My wife and I had trouble conceiving. She went to several OBGYN´s and none could solve our problem. Then we went to Dr. Root and we have a beautiful 25 year old daughter to prove his skills. Dr. Root was just so nice I loved going to my wife´s appointments just to talk with him and enjoy his optimism and faith.

On behalf of the CSUB Mass Vaccination Hub Leadership Team, we send our sincerest condolences to the Root family. It was an honor to work along side Dr.Root to spread hope & joy in our community. His care for patients and regard for colleagues were exceptional and will be greatly missed. With great respect and admiration, thank you for your service Dr. Root.
