Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

Rodney Roumayeh passed Peacefully and fearlessly at home on October 7, 2024 after a very long and courageous fight, with numerous victories under his belt. The final Victory was won for him by his precious Savior Jesus Christ, with Whom he now lives forever, free from all earthly burdens!

A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Friday, November 1st at 12 noon at Our Lady of Lebanon 4133 Calkins Rd. Flint, MI 48532.

Rodney was born on January 7, 1950 in Baghdad, Iraq. He came to America at 15 years old and became a proud patriotic United States citizen. He was a highly skilled Butcher, savvy business owner, and self-taught jack-of-all-trades, intimidated by absolutely nothing and no one. Most of all, he loved the Lord, his family, and his friends with his whole heart. And we loved him right back. Rodney owned and operated D&R Market on Chevrolet & Mackin in Flint, MI for 37 years. He was a hardworking and honest businessman who was well-loved and respected throughout the neighborhood and beyond. He loved God and God's Creation, and was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and athlete for as long as his body allowed. All through his great suffering, his strong faith never wavered. He shared the beautiful saving Gospel of Jesus with nearly everyone he met and prayed continually with and for others to the very end. His testimony inspires many and his legacy of faith will live on for a thousand generations. Rod was a Legend in every way and will be forever loved, greatly missed, and fondly remembered by all. We rejoice in the promise of Eternity, where in a blink we will be FOREVER reunited!

May the best of Rodney continue to live on in those he loved so deeply and leaves behind: Beloved Bride, Wife Cindi Roumayeh, the love of his life, who loved and cared for him in sickness and in health through his final breath. Son David Roumayeh, Daughter Kimberly (TJ) Vokal, Son Christopher (Nina) Roumayeh, Daughter Amanda (Dan) Reddy Grandchildren Ashlee, Caleb, Jonathon, Joshua, Jacob, Jordyn, Alexa, Austin, Trevor, Henry, Clara, Brothers Ricky Michael, Michael Michael, Sister Maha Sesi Auntie Amira Nephews Hunter, Griffin, Niece Krissie Countless family and close friends.

Not sure what to say?

New him at sixteen. Always remember his strength and kindness

We will always remember Rod for his smile, his kindness and compassion for others. We often shared stories of our grandchildren together. He was so proud and loved them all.
We will keep his family in our thoughts and prayers

Rodney was such a kind man. The first time I met him was with my husband Jack Bachuwa.
Rodney sat and played with my daughter and talked to me as though we had known me forever.
I will never forget that. May he rest in peace.Patricia Bachuwa,Schillag

Our condolences to Rod’s family and friends. He will forever be in our memories and now our spiritual angel. With all our love, Mike and Becky Hanniford
