Rogelio "Roy" Smith

Rogelio Gobea “Roy� Smith, 71, of Frisco, Texas, died Aug. 26, 2009 at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born Aug. 21, 1938 in Dos Palos, Calif., to Cecil and Julia Gobea Smith. He served in the Army and worked as a private pilot, farmer and truck driver. He married Gloria Sevilla on Aug. 5, 1961. In addition to his wife of 48 years, survivors include four sons, James, Art and Max Smith, all of Frisco, and Carlos Smith of Arizona City; two daughters, Monica Vinson of Arizona City and Alexis Nguyen of Phoenix; two brothers, Sam Smith of Casa Grande and Hank Smith of Mexico; two sisters, Lena King of Scottsdale and Betty J. Harkrader of Chino Valley; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Smith.
