(Nee Hoy) On Friday, November 7, 2014, Rogene went on to meet the Lord in heaven joining her parents and her beloved husband Donald W. Trudell, her dearest friend for 63 years.
Born August 19, 1926 in Minneapolis, MN to Thomas S. and Louise E. Hoy, and marrying Don on September 13, 1947. Rogene spent her life taking care of others. A friend to all, she could light up the room with her unmistakable Irish sense of humor. Her love for animals was legendary, with many pets taking shameless advantage of her over the years. Most recently, her beloved cat Patsy.
Rogene was a 1944 graduate of St. Mary?s Academy, she also graduated from business college. She then spent 40 years in the electrical industry; first at the William Lisch Electrical Contracting Company and then as a partner and Vice President at National Electric Service Inc. She was also an enthusiastic travler, enjoying many happy vacations with Don, especially in Siesta key, Florida. They also enjoyed attending Don?s annual Army Air Corp. reunions, where she made many lifelong friends.
Rogene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her dear sister Lenore L. (Hoy) Kalem, and nephew Thomas Kalem. Rogene is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Edward J. (Dianna) Kalem, Kathleen L. Kalem, Theresa L. Lewis, Deborah L. (the late Fred) Nichols, Vicki E. (Steve) Youman, Cheryl L. (Len) Conley, Gregg (the late Diane) Gromacki, Dianne (Don) Merkel, 21 great and 30 great-great nieces and nephews. Further survived by many more dear relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday November 13 from 10AM until time of service at 12. Entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
?For our light affliction, which are but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.?

I was so sad to see Roi's death notice yesterday -- getting to know her has been one of the highlights of my life over the last four or five years. But now I can look forward to seeing her again "beyond the sunset ... forevermore."
