Read MoreI first met Roger when we were both studying with the Open University in 1972. It says much about him that despite already having a good degree from Oxford he wanted to broaden his knowledge in other subjects with the OU. We remained good friends until the end, although mostly communicating remotely since we both moved, in different directions, away from Hemel Hempstead.
