Not sure what to say?

What is a wonderful man Roger was. It doesn't seem possible he had been gone from us for 8 years
His legacy reaches much further than being a Purdue basketball player and representing Purdue in his profession.
Roger has such a big heart and reached out to people who were broken hearted and seemed to have it hard to make ends meet.
We miss you Roger but your legacy lives on.
Noel D. Wright

I just met Mr. Blalock at my dad's 70th birthday party (he was the M.C.). Mr. Blalock was funny, witty, and joy to be around. My family sends their heartfelt condolences to his family. May God bless your family during this difficult time.
April Highbaugh-Scott (Richmond Heights, Ohio)

To the Blalock family,

My family would like to extend our deepest sympathy in the loss of such a great person.

May God continue to be your guide as you grieve the loss of your love one.

Always remember fun time in California

To Chris, Roger's wife, daughter and the rest of his family - we are so sorry for your lost. Roger was a great person and mentor to Purdue students. My husband and I had many opportunities throughout the years to work and interact with Roger while serving on Purdue's College of Pharmacy Minority Advocacy Council. Shortly after we met Roger and I figured out that I went to high school with his brother Chris so he would always share how Chris was doing. May our Heavenly Father continue to...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Roger's family. May the Lord watch over them, bless them and guide them during this sudden and difficult loss. As the HR Specialist to Athletics, you just could not help but liking Roger and enjoy working with him. He was truely a very special person, whose smile would light-up a room. He had a special way of making you feel good about yourself despite any challenges you might be facing. He always took the time to listen. Professional in his work ethic in...

JB and Family -
Roger was an inspiration to many. A gentle giant with a heart of gold. We will miss him. May God Bless you all and may you feel His loving hug.

I was so shocked to see Roger had passed away. While a student at Purdue I worked for him in the athletic department. He was such a kind, gentle man. I work at Hippensteel and I had seen him come in for a few visitations and spoke with him and not that long ago I saw him at the grocery store. So sad he didn't get to enjoy his retirement. God has a true gentleman in heaven with him now! God bless the Blalock family.

I was saddened to hear of Roger's passing and immediately thought, "He's too young to be gone." As a student at Purdue, I remember him as always smiling and being a source of encouragement to students. I also remember him as a doting father to Erin. He will be missed. May those left behind remember how he lived his life and continue (or adopt) the best lessons he taught.
