Not sure what to say?

Roger Charles was my best friend between 2017 until his unexpected death. He was the finest man I ever knew and I learned so much from him. I think about him almost every day. I miss you Rog. You were the best. One day we'll meet again.

Rest in Peace, Rog. We still talk about you today and miss you greatly.

Wow, I just found this out! (March 23, 2025). This is so sad. :( I was hoping to see him (and meet him for the first time) in OKC on the 30th anniversary of the bombing. He had used some of my research and included me in the Acknowledgments of his book. He seemed like such an honorable man that wanted the truth, no matter what.

Roger Charles '67 was my dear friend, a fellow member of the Sea Services, a bar-no-door researcher for ultimate truth, one of those Marine giants who walked the earth with both the proper swagger but also a spirit-driven humility. The Table Talk restaurant in Old Town Alexandria -- and the world at large -- are far, far poorer places without him.

Charles was a man that knew no fear, his passion was his men that he lead in combat. I admired Charles for his leadership skills and as an enlisted man myself, I made a good friend with an officer of our corps. I miss Charles and his wit, he was one of our giants in the corps.

BEEN A SHORT WHILE SINCE YOU WENT ON LEAVE! NO LIBERTY CARD NEEDED! YOU ROGER ARE WHERE WE ALL SHALL BE! IN GOD. LOVING HANDS! SEE YOU SOON!, JUST ANOTHER LOVING MARINE!!!John

Roger Charles was an outstanding American. His life exemplified the word patriot. He was willing to help anyone associated with a worthy cause. Speaking as one of those, I shall forever be thankful for knowing him. We will meet again... Condolences to his family. Regards from Georgia. Tom Sikes, Cadwell GA

Rest in Peace, Rog. You were my mentor, and a very good friend. I miss our chats and talking with you. Jesse & I are continuing the fight and we both miss the hell out of you. --Richard

To the Charles family: I just found out about Roger's untimely passing and wanted to send my condolences. I worked with Roger at DefenseWatch and SFTT as one of the journal's editors. I will always remember his warmth, compassion, guidance and mentorship. The world is a lesser place without Roger in it and he will be missed. My sincerest condolences, Paul Connors former Air Force Editor, DefenseWatch @ SFTT.org
