Not sure what to say?

I've never forgotten Roger and never will. He was a Good Man, and made the lives of so many others better. I especially think of him every year at this time, and when I occasionally drive by where he lived, I look over and say "Hi, Roger!"

I think of Roger often, not just near the anniversary of his passing. We shared some great times and travels together that I'll never forget. Roger was a very, very special guy. He made the world a better place.

I've never forgotten Roger. He was a very special friend, one of the closest I've ever had.

I think of Roger every day. He was one of the most dear and closest friends I've ever known and worked with. Roger enriched my life and I miss him.

We will all miss Roger, who was a very special part of our extended church family. He was great guy and an active member all of his life. One summer many years ago, three of us Sunday School students were sponsored by the local branch church to attend a youth conference in Boston. He was a good escort, and it was a terrific experience to be there. He was also an expert amateur photographer and liked to share slide presentations of his journeys. Another highlight I had was going to a John...

Last time I saw Roger was at the 40th Hudson's Bay Reunion in Vancouver. Growing up not to far from Roger-a mile or so north- I remember riding my bike to his house to play touch football in his backyard. Doug sent me a shot of a group of us from Troop 731- at age 15- at an Eagle scout ceremony. Rogers dedication to scouting is amazing and puts many to shame, including myself. A great soul to be greatly missed.

Although Roger and I shared some of the same Sierra Club terrain in both the Washington DC area and then the Portland area, I can't claim to have worked with him closely. But, I do remember him being a presence at many of the Sierra Club functions I attended. The last time I saw him, I remember thinking that he had the eyes of someone who thinks and cares deeply. May his presence be continued to be felt in the PNW conservation movement!

Roger was a quiet man with a giant passion for anything he did. He loved the outdoors and worked effectively and with passion to protect our natural resources. He gave of his talents and time to make this region a better place to live

I first met Roger over 20 years ago when were members of the Ptarmigan Mountaineering Club in Vancouver. There we hiked and cross-country skied together several times. Roger's enthusiasm and love of the out-of-doors was always apparent. In recent years Roger and I got to know each other a bit better while kayaking together. He always asked how I was doing and how my family was. He cared for people.
