Roger S. Conklin, 62, of New Milford passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. He was born on June 15, 1953 in Binghamton, NY to Bruce L. and Edith M. (Stevens) Conklin of New Milford, PA. His wife of 35 years, Janet T. (Penatzer) Conklin, survives.


He is also survived by his daughter, Sarah Conklin, Montrose, PA, grandsons, Spencer Conklin, and Gabriel Lawton, brother and sister-in-law, David and Susan Conklin, New Milford, PA, sister and brother-in-law, Bonny and John Onyon, New Milford, PA, sister-in-law, Charlotte aunts uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Garry D. Conklin in 2001, and brother, Mark A. Conklin in 2015.


Roger retired from BAE. He was known for his pig roasts and he enjoyed hunting and shooting guns. Roger's family and his land were very important to him; he loved spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, Spencer and Gabriel.


A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the South New Milford Baptist Church, with Pastors Ray Mitchell and Kevin Radford officiating. Interment will be in the New Milford Cemetery.


Memorial contributions in Roger's memory can be made to set up a scholarship fund for his two grandsons at People's Security Bank P.O. Box A, Hallstead, PA 18822.

My prayers and thoughts are with Roger and his family. Now his father & mother has joined him in heaven with his two brothers Gary & Mark. I remember the fun times we had at Blue Ridge and the Gardners. I remember passing a Volkswagen on Rt. 11. I was on the left in my Camaro and you passed him on the right on the berm. we had to get to the Orange Roof before it closed at 10:00 P.M.. sorry to hear of roger's passing, went to many archery shoots with him, never could beat him.

May God comfort all of the Conklin family. I grew up next door and went to school with Bonny. We had alot of great times at their farm! God bless you all.
