Not sure what to say?

I just wrote in the guest book, but hit the "submit" button before I signed it. Roger and I were in Sao Paulo, Brazil for 3 years when we were both young. He had such a great way with the people.

Not surprisingly, he went on to leave his mark on so many people in the 40+ years that followed. Although I did not see him often, I considered him a very special friend. My condolences to his family, who I know meant so much to him.

Roger and I worked in Brazil together and remained lifelong friends for over 40 years. He had a good heart. May your rest in peace, dear friend.

Roger was a dear friend for many years, sharing many a lunch together, birding, hiking and justice issues. I am missing him and will continue to appreciate him when I hear a bird in my backyard.

My last conversation with Roger was years ago when I unexpectedly came across him at Highberg Forest, where he was in search of a paticular bird that was said to be there at that time. That was just one of many dimensions of Roger's interesting and rich life.

I also knew Roger from St. Andrews Parish. Over the years we had many interesting conversations during coffee hour. Roger always had something to say. Even though I heard about his kids, I didn't realize he had so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was just looking for Roger in Ophelia's Place yesterday. I suppose he did grace my table. He was always very kind to me at St. Andrew's, inquiring about my family and how I was, not just giving a mere hello. He would talk about his children, of whom he was very proud. And he was always willing to help. I will miss him and I pray he is at peace.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I shall remember our many adventures with a smile. Who else could ramble on like you. You will be missed. I am glad to have known you and wish your family peace in this time of great loss. Rest gently good friend.

I miss him very much.
