Not sure what to say?

Unfortunately, I did not hear of Roger's passing until after his service. I certainly would have been there to extend my condolences to the Davis family had I known. Roger was a great guy. We had a lot of fun as kids on Personette playing hide and seek and all the other street games we played way back then. I'm sorry the Davis family has suffered so many losses in the past few years. My love goes out to Sonny & his family, Kim, Debbie & her family. May Mr. & Mrs. Davis, Barbara, Joan and...

I was so sorry to hear of Rogers passing. When l talked to Bobby a few weeks ago he had said Roger had been sick for some time. When I think of Roger it was a much happier time in our lives. I will never forget our baseball days and that smile that could ligbt up the darkest room. I know that Roger is in a better place now. My prayers go out to the ones he leaves behind.

Roger was much more than a good ballplayer. He was a good teammate and a good guy. I only saw Roger a few times since high school, but each time he greeted me with a big smile. We always found something to laugh about. After speaking to Roger just a few weeks ago, I know he is in a better place now, and at peace. My gratitude to his niece Kim for letting me know of his passing, and my deepest sympathies to all his family.

My prayers are with the entire Davis families in this time of sorrow. Music describes the soul. I can hear that tenor and bass sax. We played music together, played together and lived together for that short period of our lives called childhood. Like others, Roger's dad was an influence on a young life. That is why we who paid attention remember so well. May God's grace and peace be with all who remember a great human being.

Although I had not seen Roger since high school, I remember well his outstanding athletic abllities as the catcher on the high school baseball team. Roger's father, Mr. James Davis, was a mailman in Caldwell for many years and was well respected and loved by everyone who met him as was his son Roger. I'm sure all who knew Roger and his family would agree.

I have very fond memories of the great times I had growing up with Roger and Sonny and the entire Davis family. Roger was a great friend and classmate. I can still picture Roger’s dad lecturing us when we got into trouble. My thoughts and prayers are with the Davis family in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
