Not sure what to say?

Happy Birthday Dad :) I miss you! Your birthday always reminds me of Christmas lights and putting out our shoes the night before for St. Nick to fill with candy. I love you.

Sorry, Roger, I did not remember it being the anniversary of your death, but I just mentioned you on Easter Sunday. As I was reading the paper I commented about the day I found out that you had passed away. This helped me form the habit of reading obituaries. Teacher, you still have us reading, and you are fondly remembered by your cousin.

Mr. Dick was my humanities teacher almost 27 years ago. I’ll never forget his intelligence, passion and generous spirit. He made studying about Roman and Greek history interesting and come alive.

Mr.Dick was my favorite teacher for many reasons. He taught me to appreciate reading and writing in a way no other teacher ever could have. I loved being in his composition classes. He gave me all of the skills I needed to be a successful college student when it comes to writing essays and term papers. I will forever be grateful for the time he devoted to me to ensure I succeeded. Thank you Mr. Dick.

Just a phenomenal teacher with a passion and zest for culture and literature that he aptly passed along to his students. I'm extremely grateful that I was able to have him as an English teacher, if only for a few classes. Wish it could have been more. May you rest in peace, Mr. Dick, and my flights of angels wing you on your way.

Mr. Dick was the most inspirational teacher I EVER had. He ignited my passion for writing while encouraging me with his words. He inspired many.

I was first a student teacher working under Roger Dick and then his colleague on the BCHS faculty. He has always been my model for teaching English. I emulated him but certainly never had his gift for making literature come alive. Teaching was his true calling and we who worked with him as well as the thousands of students he educated are all better off because we had the enormous good fortune to have known him. Don Quixote has was.

I am so sorry that I did not know my cousin, Roger Dick better than I did. As I read all of the entries here I am happy to know that he was so well liked by his students. I last saw him at my Father's funeral and was so shocked to hear of Roger's passing 10 months later. I know how proud his mother, my aunt Augusta, would be to hear all the kind words about her son. May he Rest in Peace.

I'm right with Randy G. who wrote below me and explained Mr. Dick so accurately... he was such a good teacher, I took every class I could with him. The books I remember studying with him were Catcher in the Rye, Man of Lamancha and most all of his interpretation from the song Bye Bye Miss American Pie. My condolences go to his family and friends, I'm sure he'll missed by many...
