Not sure what to say?

I met Mr. Dietz in 1954 (12 years old). I was in the school band. Roger was the first cool musician I´d ever met. I went on to be a professional musician, and today at 80 still interested in the next gig. Thank you Roger for all your generosity. John Paiva (Germany)

I will never in my lifetime ever forget "Uncle" Roger and his wonderful family. What he gave to the children of Bristol with his love of music will last forever. May he and Phyllis rest in peace.

"Uncle Roger" will always hold special place in my heart

One of my favorites, always had a joke with some quick wit. Every so often we were lucky enough to be serenaded with a song. Rest peacefully our friend.

Mr. Dietz you were a inspiration to me while I was in high school band as a baton twirler and going to my freshman hop with your nephew or son my memory doesn't allow me to remember. May you be playing music in Heaven.

I was a member of the Bristol Senior High School Class of 1960 and played trumpet in the band and orchestra. In the past year I made attempts to renew contact with Uncle Roger after losing touch during my college and professional life. I managed to get a brief message from him this past spring and was thrilled that he remembered me after all these years.

Uncle Roger was loved by all and emphasized the love of music for fun. He will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace and...

A great band director - a respected man who gave me a good start in music. (Formerly from Bristol)

We called him Uncle Roger because all of us in the Bristol High School band loved him. He inspired me and about a dozen others to be music teachers. I'll never forget him.

Mr Deitz was a wonderful man.Great roll model and loved by all Bristol Students.
