Not sure what to say?

He was with me when I harvested my first deer. Showed me how to field dress it. I still hint near his favorite stand on my property.

He passed on his love of the outdoors to me and I can't thank him enough

We met each other pretty late in life but recognized we were distant cousins. I liked him immediately and looked forward to seeing him often at the Shade Center. He enjoyed convincing me to buy split the pot tickets from him. We usually talked about people from the Shade area that we knew and had known--people that meant something to us. I am sorry I learned about his death after his funeral. I considered him a good friend as well as cousin.

Roger and I were more than close friends for more than 50 years, we were Brothers In Arms for more than 25 years. I always sought his advice in military matters and he was right that I’d regret not going when I was asked to volunteer for 14 months in Iraq and Kuwait. Thanks for that trip to the desert. So many good memories. Lil and I would like to express our sympathies, condolences and are here for anything Vicki and family need.

We are deeply sorry to hear of Roger passing. Wishing you peace and comfort in the days ahead. Sending prayers for you all.

I just heard about this tragic event. I am so sorry. I always liked respected Roger gor his wit, his intelligence, and the manner in which he conducted himself like a gentleman. Ive ne er once heard anyone say anything bad about him, i think thats a pretty darn good legacy.

From one Vietnam Vet to another, you served our Nation with honor and integrity. You are missed.

Vicki and family,
So sorry for your loss. Your in my prayers.

Roger and I were "kinfolk". My great-great grandmother on my mother's side was a Howard. My ancestors and the Howards were well acquainted. Roger was very engaging with people. I typically "ran in to him" at auctions, the county fair and other such sundry places. My thoughts and prayers are with the family!

I am very sorry for your loss.

Roger was a very kind man and he was my friend. I was so fortunate to know Roger and I will miss him greatly.
