Jetton, Roger Aaron - age 80, of West Knoxville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Park West Hospital, attended by Dr. Shannon Byrd. Born December 21, 1932, he was of the Presbyterian faith and veteran of the United States Army. Formerly of Charlotte, NC, where he studied Agricultural Engineering at UNC, Charlotte, his lifelong career was with Ford Motor Company in both the automotive and tractor divisions. He came to Knoxville as owner of Knoxville Ford Tractor Company and was fondly referred to throughout East Tennessee as 'The Ford Tractor Man'. He later owned Kingston Pike Motor Supply. In addition to his exceptional mechanical skills, Roger was a gifted artist. He enjoyed playing golf, restoring vintage tractors and building race cars, though his most treasured joy was his family. He is preceded in death by his father Gaddis Jetton, mother Addie Stephens Jetton and brother Boyce Jetton, Charlotte. Roger was the loving husband and father to his surviving by his wife of 61 years, Glenda Caldwell Jetton of Knoxville and their five children, spouses and 13 grandchildren. Roger Jetton, Jr. Richmond,VA, Allison and Josh Bender Washington, DC, Elizabeth and Nicholas Campbell,III Boston, Michael and Meredith Jetton New York City, Katherine Jetton Dallas/Chicago, Beverly and Bill Reeves Knoxville, Mary Catherine Reeves Memphis and Andrea Reeves Knoxville. David Jetton, Knoxville and his children Taylor Jetton Asheville, Elliott and Avery Jetton Knoxville, Mark and Robin Jetton, sons Chadwick, Christian and Cameron Knoxville. Sandra and John Worley, and daughter Audrey of Knoxville. He is also survived by his sister Carol Irvin Wolfsong and Sydney Wolfsong, of Gastonia NC and John Irvin, Beth Irvin and Duane Irvin Charlotte. Brother-in-law Jerry Caldwell and wife Jean and son Ed and Lisa Caldwell of Cornelius, NC. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm, followed by a celebration of life memorial service Wednesday, May 8 at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville TN 37919. The Interment will be Thursday, May 9, 11:30am at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Gov. John Sevier Hwy.
