It's impossible to express how grateful I feel to have known Roger and his family during my time in CT and at Spring Glen Church. Early on I was lucky enough to be invited to skate on Johnson's pond and play hockey with Roger and his family, join him on the softball field, and later as a member of his bowling team (to which he often walked so sometimes I got to give him a ride home and share talks in the car). What an athlete and competitor he was! We worked side by side in Mississippi...

Our sympathy to the Johnson Family for your tremendous loss. Wishing all of you peace.

Hi Ruth and Bruce and Curt --- I will always remember Roger as the really nice neighbor kid from across the street in th 50's and 60's (until the Wood family moved to Michigan in 1967). Mostly I...

My condolences to Roger´s large and loving family. I was fortunate to spend an evening with many of them last fall at the family cottage. It was so clear how deeply they cared for Roger and each other. I am sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolences to you, Ruth and the entire family. I feel lucky to have known Roger just a bit through substitute teaching for Laura the Dance for Parkinson's Classes in Branford. Roger's lightness of spirit, humor, and community caring - and just as much you, Ruth! - are part of my memories of teaching the class. It is great to read here more about Roger and his active, interesting, on-the-water life, right through to his last days looking out over the Sound. Sending prayers and...

I am so very sorry to hear that the world has lost the very talented, joyful, loving Roger. I will try to attend the memorial online as I´ll be away , and unable to share in person what I´m sure will be a wonderful tribute . Sending much love and sympathy to all family and others who knew and loved Roger.
