Not sure what to say?

I found your thesis today at my college's library. Incredible, considering you've never even studied there! You left a couple of months before I began a rough time in my life, but maybe from heaven you knew that I'd get through it and make it to that college. Maybe you left it there as a reward. I'll take a look at it when I can, but for now I'm following in your footsteps and studying a history topic myself, and I want to make sure it's done right.

Super interesting to see everybody's...

Far to young. Mr. Lim was a teacher who ask you to be more. He did not just accept that all kids had to take a class and do the minimums. A teacher who cared. Thanks for giving the extra effort. - g

I enjoyed having Mr Lim as a teacher at Drake. Here is a fond memory- we had to memorize verbatim legal definitions for civics class. One student athlete really struggled with the weekly assignment. One week, he took his list of definitions, taped it to the front of Mr Lim's desk and sat directly in front of it. The quiz came back a few days later- he had earned an "A"! And underneath it said, "next time don't cheat". He was firm, gentle, non confrontational and helped us all learn.

Roger Lim - Dec 20, 2009

Roger Lim was one of my favorite teachers of all time at Drake High School. He was funny, knowledgeable, clearly loved students (and we loved him), had faith in us, opened my eyes to other ways of thinking about history and politics and all these decades later, I've never forgotten him. He was a wonderful and gifted teacher. I hope he had a beautiful life and that he was at peace when he passed. My sincere condolences and humble blessings to his family.

Praying for Peace and Comfort for Roger's family.

I only knew Roger when I was in junior high school when he was a leader of our church club. My most memorable memory of Roger was when he taught us boxing. With 16 ounce gloves, it was hard to see past them to punch the opponent. I'm glad he was able to attend our 50th wedding anniversary in 2015. Seeing him there was special!

See you later, Roger!

Condolences to the Lim family. Roger was a valued colleague during my time teaching at Drake, 1974-1990. He was consistently even-tempered, always thoughtful and respectful. He will be remembered by staff and students alike.

Roger was a great guy and inspirational teacher. What else could you ask for as a student? R.i.p.
