Roger Calvin Merritt, 58, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 5, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born November 23, 1955 in Fremont, the son of Calvin and Janet (Smith) Merritt. He was a 1974 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

Roger married Janice M. Bender on January 18, 1985 in Fremont and she survives. He currently worked as a Supervisor at Crescent Manufacturing Company. He previously worked as a Supervisor at Nickels Bakery for twenty-one years.

Roger was a member of Victory Church. He was an avid baseball player and NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon. Roger enjoyed golf, his dogs and animals. He loved being around people and making them laugh.

Roger is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Janice M. Merritt, Fremont, OH; children, Andreia (Bradley) Lefevre of Michigan, Stephen Merritt, Fremont, OH, Amanda (Dustin) Miller, Green Springs, OH; parents, Calvin and Janet Merritt, Fremont, OH; siblings, Pat Merritt, Fremont, OH, Scott (Janet) Merritt, Lima, OH, Brad Merritt, Fremont, OH.

Visitation: Thursday from 2 ? 4 pm and 6 ? 8 pm and Friday from 9:30 ? 10:30 am at Victory Church, 2051 Oak Harbor Rd, Fremont, OH.

Service: Friday, May 9, 2014, 10:30 am at the church with Pastor Scott Robles officiating.

Burial: McGormley Cemetery, Fremont.

Memorials: To the family or the Cardiovascular Department at Toledo Hospital.
