Not sure what to say?

Joyce- I am so saddened to hear of Roger's passing. He was an inspiration to me and got my teaching career started with his sage mentoring. I miss our get together's of years past, his stories and humor.
My condolences.

Roger Mitchell was one of my most memorable profs at UWEC back in the 80's. He was a major influence on my world view. I'm sure he will be sadly missed by many.

When I returned to UWEC as an adult student in the late 1970s, I was priveleged to take a number of courses from Roger. I so thoroughly enjoyed his classes that I continued and am now a member of the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department here in Eau Claire. I think of him often, especially when I am presenting units on mythology and folklore. I have missed his sense of humor and down to earth teaching style. I am sorry for your loss.

Joyce:

The world has lost a great scholar and a great patriot. Roger served his country as a member of the Marine Corps, and survived many hardships in doing so. His contributions to the field of folklore shall preserve his memory to all future scholars who embark upon this career.

As a friend, Roger was supportive and loyal beyond words, even in the darkest of days. And, he was so proud of his family, and his familial heritage in Maine.

Roger, you shall...
