Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory Obituary

The Mitchell Family regretfully announces the loss of our dear Roger Dan Mitchell, known more affectionately as Pops. Pops was bigger than life and lovingly did it all. A 60+ year marriage, father of 3, grandfather of 7 and a friend to all. He was an officer in the Air Force, a Veteran, a...

Not sure what to say?

Sorry I'm so late in posting this memory. It's been several decades since I've been in contact with Roger. I first knew him as a participation 'teacher' at Burris High School (Muncie, IN), then when going to Ball State I pledged his fraternity, Theta Chi. I'm only now learning of his passing but wanted everyone to know what a powerful influence he had on me in those high school/college years - a powerful, gentle, and towering personality that I always looked up to. So sorry for not...

Condolences and prayers to the Mitchell family.

Thought and prayers for all of your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I just knew him through Joan Graham. I know he was a wonderful man, who served his country, and was a person who was respected by all who knew him. He was loved by so many people. May the good Lord be with you all during this time and keep His ever loving arms around you as long as needed. With love and sympathy.

I didn't know Roger "Mitch" real well but he was larger than life here at Randall Residence and those of us that got to meet him feel lucky to have had the chance to have known him. Sincere sympathy to everyone he proudly displayed in his family picture.

My thoughts and prayers to the Mitchell family in the loss of Roger. I enjoyed his summer visit with other Hartford friends at the Mineshaft. Enjoyed many a card game and visit with him and Gayle when they were Hartford residents.

Thank you for loving me like your own. I will miss you, always.
