Not sure what to say?

It's 17 years now and seems like only yesterday when we were having lunch at Marie Calendars restaurant and making Alaska Fishing plans together. I think of you often my "Fishy Friend" and miss your smile. This is my 29th year going annually to Alaska and I have you to thank for what Judy calls my "Alaska Obsession". I am so fortunate we had such good times together.

Roger, hard to believe it has been 16 years. I´m still missing our time together with a fishing pole in our hands. I often think about your infectious smile and your jovial laughter. I miss ya buddy and I am still carrying on your legacy of annual fishing trips to Alaska. You were my mentor for all things Alaska. Happy Fish Tales to You, Until We Fish Again.

Still missing my friend and fishing buddy. Roger was always a good listener and good friend and one of the most generous people I have ever known. His laughter and smile could light up a whole room. I dearly miss you buddy!

Nothing has changed since I wrote about our relationship in 2007. I miss him as much today as I did when I heard the bad news of his passing. He will always be my hero and mentor!

Roger, It is hard to believe it has been 14 years. You are gone, but not forgotten my fishy friend. I miss our hours of banter and humorous conversations; and the heartfelt camaraderie shared on our fishing trips. I truly appreciate, honor and miss the legacy that was our friendship together. I am still holding tight to the fond memories of the good times we shared. -Dave Gorcey-

I still think of Roger and miss him tremendously. Having grown up living across the street from him, he was my idol and mentor through school in Belding and in college at Western Michigan University. I am indebted to him for all he taught me in sports, friendships, and life. I only wish I could be 1/2 the man he was. My condolences to his wife, Carol and his family!

If you are lucky in life, every once in a while, you get to meet someone who turns out to be a particularly special person to you. Roger was that person. His infectious smile, wonderful laugh, sense of humor, and thoughtful comments were qualities that Roger demonstrated daily.

We became close friends in 1980 and that friendship lasted to the very end. We fished together in Alaska numerous times and he dearly loved swapping fish stories. I still dearly miss you my friend. ...

Wayne, my husband and fellow teacher at Belding High School, has already written in this guest book. I have had a difficult time accepting the passing of this fine human being. He brought so much light and love with him when you met. One always felt surrounded with his graciousness and integrity. Wayne and I had so looked forward to seeing him again this coming summer at the 50th reunion. I offer my deepest sympathy to his wife and family. He gladdened our hearts many times. I'm sure that...

To Roger's family:

I met Rog at WMU...we were in the same fraternity....He urged me to take Dean Webster [from Belding] as my little bro....we have remained best of friends since that time...Thanks Rog...You will be missed.......
