Not sure what to say?

For Roger; You always saw the good in people. I will miss you.

It is with great sadness that we learned of Roger's passing. He was a teacher passionately dedicated to English Literature and had high expectations of his students. As a colleague, he had a sense of wit that added humor to many staff meetings. We offer condolences to his family and friends.

I will always remember Roger as being a very nice man. When I saw him and his wife outdoors I would always stop and talk to them. Monica Morey

Mr. Patton was one of the best teachers I ever had in my years at OV. He was a very good lecturer, had a great sense of humor and instilled a love of learning in us. The book we read on the "fog index" in 10th grade English has helped me ever since attempt to eliminate the fog in my own writing and speaking. I have thought of him often with gratefulness. My sympathies to you at this time of loss.

Condolences to the Patton Family. Mr. Patton was a great teacher at OV and I learned so much from him. He was sure I wouldn't find enough material for a research paper (OV class of 78), and when I did he gave me an A on the paper. I always thought that was really awesome coming from him!

My condolences to your family. Roger was a great actor and a great person to talk with backstage. The Muskegon Civic Theater was a better place because of him. He was always such a pleasant addition to the cast and crew of any show that he was associated with and made everyone feel special. He will be greatly missed.

Condolences to Mr. Patton's family. Mr. Patton provided leadership and character building through his teaching. His sense of humor made his class interesting and kept me involved. I appreciate the effort he put into the classroom and life.

he was an outstanding teacher one of my favorites he was very tricky he would sit at his desk and tell you a story (many times something in his youth) and by the time the class bell rang we enjoyed the class and we actually learned something. i was lucky i saw mr patton many years later and thanked him for being such a great teacher and how much he meant to me personally. when someone mentions some of the great teacher we had in our lives his name ALWAYS came up.he will be missed but will...

Roger was a unique character to us (in the North) coming from the South. He was a special individual with a heart of gold. He has made so many happy thru the years. Your smile will be missed.
Love,
