Our first 'meeting' with Roger was when he and Nancy crewed for us on our 26' Thunderbird on the Vashon Island Race (in the early 60's) complete with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. This was the beginning of a long and memorable friendship. One time we were having dinner at Stanley & Seaforts and he casually sketched a pen & ink drawing on a small salad plate which I cherished for years. We're grateful we were privileged to see him and Judy one last time in sunny Arizona last summer. ...
