Dr. Roger L. Saur

Dr. Roger L. Saur, age 89, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1995, died April 10, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Texis in 1997. He is survived by his children: Dr. Carol Saur of Los Lunas, NM; Catherine Sanborn and husband, Steve of Traverse City, MI; Paul Saur of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren Eric Sanborn and wife, Andrea of Traverse City, MI; Brian Sanborn of Chicago, IL and Jennifer Rouse and husband Zach of Bellaire, MI and 5 great-grandchildren. Dr. Saur was a native of Fremont, Michigan. Dr. Saur taught electronics in the US Navy during WWII, and later obtained a PhD in physical chemistry from Michigan State University. Dr. Saur worked as a research scientist for General Motors Laboratories from 1949 until his retirement in 1977, and made several significant contributions to the automobile industry. At age 71, Dr. Saur verified the authenticity of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and he spent his remaining years researching the Bible. Services will be held at French - University Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2012, officiated by Pastor Alan Hawkins and Pastor Christine Hackett. Dr. Saur will later be interred in Fremont, Michigan.
