Not sure what to say?

I love you Roger. My heavenly angel!

Mr. Schlosser, my history instructor at GRJC in the late 70s, helped to instill a lifelong interest in history and politics, and also challenged students to sharpen their minds and examine the past critically and dispassionately. He was a great teacher!

Roger taught a history class at Grand Rapids Junior College which I took in 1974. This class was the single most impactful class I took while working towards two degrees, due to his unmatched teaching ability. He remains the best teacher, at any level, I ever had. RIP!

He was my teacher at Community College. He inspired me to do my best work and gave me the confidence that I could succeed academically. He changed my life and I am now getting my PhD. I wouldn't be if not for Professor Schlosser.

Although I graduated from Catholic Central just one year after Roger, I spent a few years in the Navy, then returned to GRJC the first year that he began teaching. I had already been a lover of American history, but Roger imbued in me a deep love of ancient history. He made it so interesting, and as others have noted, his sense of humor was so engaging. My condolences to his family.

Roger was a man of great integrity. To have known and worked with him was a great privilege. He made a great contribution to GRCC and to all the students he taught.

I had the great honor and privilege to take several of Roger's classes as well as travel with him as part of the Irish Studies Program in 2007. He quickly became my favorite professor due to his passion for learning, teaching, and his students. I never tired of his stories, delivered with such great humor and irrepressible fervor.

As a middle-aged student, learning from Roger was a life-changing experience. Higher education will surely miss him, but has been enriched beyond measure by...

You will be missed

Barb and family,
So sorry to hear about Roger. My wife, Judy, showed it to me. You may not remember us (Walt and Judy Steed) but Rog was my roommate at WMU! I have very fond memories of our days together in Kalamazoo. He will be missed for sure. You have our sincere condolences. Our prayers are with you at this time.
