Dear Rita and children,
The loss of your husband and father and the grief it occasions is shared by so many who knew him as friend and co-worker when he worked for the City of Grand Rapids. I remeber his sense of humor and fondly recall the many stories he related about his Navy days. He was a good friend and wise and decent man, and I join with you in mourning his passing. May God comfort and console you in this hour of grief, and God grant Roger eternal peace.

Roger was much loved by many people in the City of Grand Rapids. I had the pleasure to work with Roger and considered him a friend as did many other GR city employees. He and Rita came to our wedding 29 years ago during the blizzard of 78. Nothing stopped Roger. Rita and his entire family have our condolences and prayers. We will never forget him. God bless you all.

Lee,
I am so sorry for your loss. I met your father over ten years ago. We really had a nice conversation about you and California. I told him I had met you at the Stanford Pow Wow and again in Berkeley. What a nice person he was and I feel privileged that I met him.

Roger and his family were like a part of my family, The Medendorps
in Shelbyville. His sister Ardis
was my best friend in high school.
I know he will be missed.
