I worked at the Translab from 1989 through 2004 and worked with Roger. He was a kind person and I always admired him. I hope his family finds solace in fond memories of him.

Roger passed to the next dimension on September 1, 2025, due to Parkinson's disease. Roger was born on July 11, 1936, in Auburn, New York during one of the hottest summers on record. He was the first of two children of Wilford Francis Stoughton and Emily Rockwell Stoughton. His father, a Cornell...

Very saddened to receive this news. I first met Roger in the 2nd grade and knew him well all the way thru Engineering school. Over the years, we remained in touch at City High reunions, a couple of UI Homecomings, and then working with him, Dan Hudson and Marily Kabela Jensen on keeping track of our 1954 ICHS classmates. To me Roger was more than just a friend and classmate; he was an inspiration. Certainly, he will be missed by all of us. Ruth and I send our sincere condolences to...

I've known Roger since we were classmates at City High in Iowa City, the Class of 1954. I was a close friend of his younger sister Dorotha. Roger and I remained in touch off and on over the years. With Carol's help, Roger was a critical factor in keeping the class of 1954 together until Parkinson's disease became too disabling. I never met anyone who knew Roger who didn't like and respect him.

I grew up with Roger all thru grade school, high school and college. When the computer age came, Roger set up a way for the Iowa City High School Class of 1954 to keep in touch by email. After all those years, he has entrusted me with keeping this contact going. Speaking for the Class of 1954, we will sorely miss Roger's always insightful input. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Dan Hudson

Dearest Carol, Lovely obituary! What a remarkable, full life. My memory of Roger is of a quiet, kind, thoughtful man. How helpful he was when we came to your yard to catch butterflies for a daughter´s project. I always enjoyed your interesting stories and chats about what the two of you were into. My sadness for your sorrow. I give you my heart. Pam Peacock
