Not sure what to say?

My condolences to the Tabler and Hilands families.

Roger and I were friends at the University of Oregon 58-62 or close to that. He was a wonderful, sensitive young man and we all thought he had great wit. I even went to a dance with him and still have the picture.
Those were fond memories. There was a gang of us (about six or so) that knew how to party. He was in the midst. I wish I had never lost contact with him. I have thought of him through the years.

Roger was an amazing man and a wonderful uncle. I have the best memories of fun times with all the family. He was always there to give a big hug and cheer you up with a great joke! Thank you, Roger for always being so sweet to me. I feel very lucky to have such fond memories. I miss you and love you forever.

Roger was one of a kind but more importantly, he was my friend. I met Roger at Joe's Cellar where he soon turned me into a crossword addict. We always talked about writing our own version of the crossword dictionary which would include definitions of words like wen-ta-pe and a-toz. We would laugh at ourselves til the tears flowed. We had little routines that he liked to play on others where he would start a sentence and I would finish it--usually something rather risque'. Few people love life...

Roger married Darlene in 1996, not 1966.

Roger was a great guy, good friend that I and many others will miss greatly. He was never for a loss of words or a joke to liven up his spot at the bar or the table where he was holding court. I'm thankful that I got to know Roger over these last several years. Sincerely, Doug Pugh

Roger was a professional friend, and mentor. While working at I Magnin, just out of college, I had the fortune of his business, as he had me assist him in purchasing lovely gifts for his family. He had taste, style, and panache. My next job, with L'Oreal, found us working together again. Roger truly believed that the glass ceiling should be broken by women, and I will always be greatful of that quality he instilled in me. We had lots of laughs, and many successes in those days, not to...

Condolences from the family of Bill Provis.

I had the opportunity to work for a few years with Roger at Fred Meyer. Starting with Interstate F.M. and then working in the buying office. He was an unforgettable person, with his fun outlook and humor , and he always had a great work ethic. I will have many memories of those days. Even the roller coaster rides at Jantzen Beach!! I know he will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

Sincerely,
Terry Emmert Viles
