Roger and I were on the Dyess DD880. He left for shore duty in Vietnam. I left the ship too and got stationed in the same place. We were good friends.

Roger "Dad" always made me feel welcome. He had a strange sense of humor that could always get me laughing. I'll miss the laughter, hugs, and fatherly advice.

Roger was the epitome of a good neighbor. He was always there to help and to lend a tool to a guy who didn't have many at the time. His insight and experience were really helpful and he would make you think even if you didn't agree with him. Prayers of love and support to Sue and the family for God's comfort and peace.
