Not sure what to say?

I never met him but I am the recipient of the Roger & Clare VanderLaan scholarship. For this, I thank you and your wife. This scholarship helped me through my Junior year of nursing school. With your help, I am treading a new pathway for myself and becoming an inspiration for my friends and family. Thank you!

Was not aware of Roger's passing until now and i am so sad to hear this news. Brings back so many memories of what a good man he was. And a man that was fun to be around. The years of laughter shared. My condolences and love to Claire and Roger's family.

Shocked and saddened to just now learn of the passing of long -time friend Roger. We visited on Sept.26. Roger did a lot of wonderful things for me. I am glad my last memory of him is one of him being full of life and enjoying our time together. My condolences to all of his family. Tom Mathieu

I´ll remember all the memories of fort Myers beach with him every morning when I was pitching on the beach I´m going to miss u my friend

I was saddened to hear of Roger´s passing. He was a man that could go into a dark room and light it up. He had an infectious personality. I learned so much how a person should act towards others during those growing up years. Roger to me always put others ahead of himself. What a great example to follow in life for everyone. Roger was our golf coach and one of the things he would tell us before a match is if you win you eat steak if you lose you eat hotdogs tonight I never forgot that. I pray...

I worked with Roger at Davenport from 1999 to 2002. It was always a pleasure.

Roger had a way of bringing a smile to a person's face. He was pleasant and caring. Roger appreciated your hard work if you were fortunate enough to work for him. Blessings to the VanderLaan family. I am sure Roger will be missed. Jack & Karen Cichy
