Roger was a trail blazer, who enriched the places where he and his professional associates worked across the boundaries of architectural history, construction, real estate investment, and advocacy. Somehow he could achieve all of that while staying immensely likeable!

I knew Roger briefly in the late 1960s. I had just graduated from college and was working as an urban planner for the City of Boston. Roger's vision and commitment to preservation provided an inspiration that shape my career. His work provided a model for a number of other developers of the time and brought credibility to architectural preservation through adaptive reuse.
