I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Serpas' passing just today. Kent and I were best friends practically from the crib when we both lived on Berhman Ave. in Algiers. I've been thinking a lot lately about their family and decided to look up Kent. This is such a sad first link to hit upon during that search. I was very shocked upon hearing of Rogers passing, and disappointed that I never had the opportunity to meet him. It was a pleasure to talk and write back and forth comparing our notes on the Rogers Family History. His passing will leave a hole in my heart and he will always be remembered as I carry on our research. Love & prayers to Marilyn and family.

I just heard about Rogers death and am still in shock. When I joined the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana, I met Rogers and had the privilege of serving on the Board with him. He was always the gentleman.Through our work on the Board we became friends. I will always treasure this friendship. My prayers and thoughts go out to Marilyn and his family.

I am proud and fortunate to have had him as my father-in-law for so many years. He was like a father to me. He has touched my life in so many ways and God has blessed me with his grandson. I will miss the sound of his voice and his wisdom. He has touched so many hearts with his kindness, he has especially touched mine. I already miss him and will think of him always.
