Not sure what to say?

I am very sad to hear of Roland´s passing. I knew Roland from his work for the PBA. In fact Roland wrote my recommendation letter for admission to the NYS Bar. It was a beautiful letter from a great and kind man that still means a great deal to me 25 plus years later. I admired his intellect, work ethic and humanity. We lost a good man and I offer my heartfelt condolences to his family.

As a family member Roland was always quick with a joke or Italian anecdote. Extremely friendly, you always felt at ease in his company. He welcomed you into his house and he and Lady Clara made sure your plate was always full. I had the rare honor of sharing his son's name too. Pace ed armonia sia sempre in casa mia. Peace and harmony will always be in my house. That was the Roland I remember. Robert Benedetti

My favorite professor of all time. He made law classes fun mixing in his police experience. I ran into him in Luigi´s in Lincroft about a dozen years ago and I reminded him what he meant to his students. He gracefully thanked me-such a nice gentleman.

Professor Roland (Roy) Benedetti was a dedicated teacher who inspired many of his students to choose law enforcement careers. As then Dean then of the College he taught in at St. John's, I know firsthand how popular he was as a teacher, how his classes filled up first and how he always had time to advise any student. His teaching was inspired by his career experiences and his interest in helping others. He was a model of solid public service to all who knew him. Thank you for your service...

Professor Benedetti was a man of honor, a true gentlemen, and an amazing Professor. He inspired me and generations to always strive to be the best while a student at St. John´s University and years later. He gave his heart and soul to teaching and cared abut his students. I will miss him each day and to say "thank you", would be an understatement. Rest in Peace Professor B.
