Dear Sherridan and the Hanks Family, Marcelle and I wanted to extend our sincerest condolences on the loss of Roland. Our short time with him in Conakry was always fun, and he made us laugh. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Sincerely,

Susie and I send or condolences to Sheridan and Family. I will remember the good times we all had while we were posted in Africa.

I'm so sorry to hear about MSG Hanks' passing. We worked together until spring of last year. He was always looking out for other people. He really cared for those he worked with and made an effort to brighten the days of everyone he came across. He was so intelligent and accomplished, yet still a very humble leader. I truly enjoyed our time working together, and I will miss talking to him about anything and everything. Rest easy, Roland.

Randy, Rebecca, Evelyn and all - It's been 30 years since I've seen Roland and I remember his smile and the funny faces he could make like it was yesterday. SO many wonderful times. Rest easy in heaven Roland. Goodbye for now my friend and forever partner in the the rhythm section of the Hooligans!

I was so sorry to hear about Roland's passing. I haven't seen him in over 30 years or so but we were part of a good group of guys that used to hang out together (high school years and in our early 20's). Roland was such a a character and was always laughing about something. I'll always remember him as a kind soul. He will be missed. Regards, Jeff
