Carol and I first met Pat and Roland at Harbor Island Marina right after we purchased Popcorn Express. A yellow Catalina 27 sailboat. Tommie went down to the docks to spend our first night on the boat and thought wow, Gib bought a full boat cover for the boat. I first met Roland when we were in Jr. high school and knew him
casually through High school. We reconnected in the mid seventies
via our common hobby (not boating) My wife Judy and myself
became very close with him and Pat and are still best of friends.

Roland was a very curious and gregarious person who really enjoyed life until his illness overtook him. We especially enjoyed a cruise
where we toured Copenhagen Denmark and saw his childhood home and...

Dear Pat - I noticed Roland's obit in today's paper and wanted to let you know how sorry we are for your loss. We are still in La Mesa and I would enjoy taking you to lunch sometime to get caught up.

My cousin Leif always had a lot of ambition and energy and pursued all his goals with those things.
When we got together he would always be curious about things in my life and our Family history.
His Danish heritage kept him near the ocean. He loved to be around boat people and boats. His last boat the Valkyrie was a testament to that, very well kept.
His love for Danish foods, when he could get them was only curtailed by his medical restrictions, he love Danish foods.

I have many fond memories of times spent with Roland and Pat, including a cruise to Roland's place of birth and where he spent his childhood. Roland will always live in my heart....I love and miss him!!
