I literally just heard the news. Sending our deepest condolences to the family. "Uncle" Roland was one of a kind, and a fixture of strength throughout my entire life. My favorite memory is of his huge smile, and his great dancing moves, as demonstrated on our wedding video, which we watch every year. All my love!

He was a wonderful man and blessed to have you Mary Ann as his wife. My mother and dad were friends. He is in my prayers. I fundraise for Alzheimer's, as my mother is afflicted also. Such a devastating illness. You and he are in my prayers.

Dear Hymel family, Roland was a truly amazing man who impacted the lives of thousands of people. He certainly impacted mine. A great loss for our city, state and country. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless all of you!

I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Maryann and Mr. Roland thru a mutual acquaintance, Miss Joan Rathe. They were an outstanding couple who always made me feel like I was a friend instead of their driver. Mr. Roland knew the city of New Orleans like the back of his hand. It was an honor to get to know them on a 1 on 1 basis.

Roland was always such a bright star in all of our lives- in loving memory of Roland and for love and healing to the family - much love, Doris & Tommy

So sorry to see that Roland passed away. For the past few months, I too, have been widowed. It's very difficult. I pray for you during this time.
