R.E. Rogers Funeral Home - Belfry Obituary

 Rolin T. Rutherford, 88, of Huddy, KY, passed away Monday morning, July 28, 2025, at Baptist Health, Lexington, KY.
     T was born August 15, 1936, at Huddy, KY, the son of the late Garland Rutherford and Roxie Bostic Zornes.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Rutherford; son, Jeffery Glen Rutherford; two brothers, Eddie Zornes, Alvis Zornes; sister, Velvee (Bob) Clingman  and his step father, Lawrence Zornes.
     T was a coal miner and for many years he sold and installed carpet.  He loved the Lord and was a Deacon and member of the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church. 
     T is survived by two granddaughters, Kristin Renea Rutherford (Timothy Brandon Overstreet) of Lexington, KY, and Tamara Michele (Fidel) Tewolde of Lexington, KY; his great grandchildren, Faven Grace Tewolde, Yshaac Jake Tewolde, Willa Faith Overstreet and Abraham Clarence Tewolde; daughter-in-law, Lisa Williamson Rutherford (Roger Osborne) of London, KY; his siblings, Charlie Rutherford of TN, Freda Willis of IN, and L. R. (Myrna Rae) Rutherford of Belfry, KY; brother-in-law, Greg (Anita) Fickey of Belfry, KY, and a host of other loving family and friends.
     His visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, from 6 - 9 PM at the Leckieville Freewill Baptist Church.  Funeral services will follow on Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning at 1 PM at the church with Lee Dotson Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rutherford Cemetery, Huddy, KY, with Michael Rose, James Church, Timothy Overstreet, Kevin Fickey and other family serving as pallbearers.  Online condolences at www.rerogersfh.com.  R. T was a good neighbor to my grandparents & my Aunt Ilene. You could always count on T to keep an eye on things & for help when needed. He will be missed.

I worked with T and Jeff at Loftis Coal Company Sidney Ky. I thought alot of T he was always the nicest and most easy going man my prayers goes out to the family. I'm sorry for the family's loss.
