Roma Jean (Hiebert) Earles (February 22, 1944 - October 30, 2021) artist, pianist, nature lover, union member and activist, mentor, sister of Ron, Marcia, and Linda, mother of Chelsea, Jill and Erika, Groszma to Jessie Bird, loving companion of 60 years to Ralph and devoted aunt, teacher, friend, and honorary grandma to so many loved ones, died on Saturday morning, October 30, 2021. She had a sudden heart attack in the company of dear friends and family outside on a beautiful day. She was always an active and caring member of her extensive community of loved ones. She will be sorely missed.

There will be a brief outdoor gathering Sunday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. at Sullivan Park in Baldwin. We ask that everyone wear a mask and distance in honor of Roma's commitment to keep us all safe from the coronavirus.  Please email [email protected] to participate in a zoom memorial at a future date.

Not sure what to say?

One of the nicest people you could ever meet. The world is a little less bright without her.

Amongst all the beautiful and true comments about Roma, I also reflect on her human side, loving dark chocolate and dangling earrings. Every time I eat do chocolate and extra spicy food I think of her.

Roma was and still is a beautiful lady that had touched my heart and so many others. Roma had a beautiful spirit and enjoyed being around all her friends. I thought highly of her and will miss visiting with her.
God bless

Roma was a dear friend to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She mentored me during my years at South Junior High and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Her dear husband Ralph was her constant companion and the love of her life. Her three daughters were always cherished and adored by Roma. She helped countless people and was kind to everyone she met. I will miss her sweet smile & the fun times I shared with her.

I didn´t know Roma well, but I always enjoyed seeing her smiling face at Tuesday Reading Club and the library´s Book Talks. Beautiful service in the park on a beautiful day!

Prayers to the family and friends!! She was a special lady!!
