Not sure what to say?

I remember attending meetings of the Kent County Conservation League with my Dad, Herb Westveer. How they worked to get that group going and worked to get the property in Ada and the shooting ranges. My husband later joined the League and enjoyed meeting Rome, also.

The members of the Chester E. Pearson family all wish to express our condolences to the friends and family of our Cousin Rome Douglas.
We always looked forward to seeing him at family functions where he and my father would share old stories and family history with us.

I married Richard Douglas in 1986 and had the wonderful pleasure of gaining Rome Douglas as my Uncle. I always enjoyed his zest for life and his quiet manner when we were together at family functions. He could tell a story and your excitement about the event would build with every word. His life experiences were always interesting to hear. My heart has a crack in it that will heal with the fond memories I have of Rome. Goodbye, Uncle Rome. I love you!

Uncle Rome was a very special person. I have many fond memories of summers at the cottage in Newaygo. I will miss him.

As a former Douglas Brothers employee, I am saddened to hear of Mr. Roman's passing. His strong ethics and professionalism have served as a model for me throughout my life.
